The lounge area was fabulous and the breakfast was exceptional.
I enjoyed my stay at Peppers but was very disappointed at the size of the room. Two tall adults one king size bed and very little room to move or anywhere to put most of your belongings.
Lovely old country house and grounds, good and central for exploring the Southern Highlands and close to the Bowral town with its mix of interesting shops and gardens.
Noise from very squeaky floorboards in the hall outside our bedroom.
We stayed 2 nights. We left at 10am on the second morning and returned at about 10pm and the room hadn't been tidied. I had to walk down to reception because my phone had no "reception" button and request clean towels and toilet paper. However the staff member at the front counter was quick to bring more towels etc.
We were bitterly disappointed with the room size & room location, where we looked out over tin roof tops. The hallways from Recpetion to room were dark, creaky & had a faint musty smell. Access to rooms was difficult (no lift) with heavy cases. The bedroom had been updated however there was not enough room for suitcases & had to step over them. The bathroom needs a lot of modernisation - tiles were grubby & extremely small. Room tarriff did not reflect accommodation provided.
The, estate is gorgous, the gardens are very well taken care of the building is well groomed as well furniture well kept and very friendly atmesphere
We booked on line, when we arived they had stated that they were booked out do to a large wedding party, we had a room on the 3rd floor (no lifts) I have a bad knee was a bit of a strugle, when we got to the room and opened the french ndoors we found a old horse stable to be our veiw and the smell to go with it. They nicely moved us, but we were in the room next to the courtyard where the wedding reception was, it was going until 115 am. When I called the office they said they were closing the bar and shuting the party down. The next morning when I spoke to the manager I said it would have been nice to let your customers know that there was a large function going to give them an option, we went for the tranquility of the estate. To find it was louder then being in the city, Her reply was you booked on line so they have know way of contacting???? When we booked I had mentioned it was my wifes 52 bday. They never egnaloged the fact with not an even a little mint or choc. (That was the first ever) we always go away for our bdays and at least a little note on the pillow saying happy birthday. Over all it was a shame because of our special event, We felt booking on line gave us no impotence to that manager, as she said well if you would have booked with us we could have told you! So we became second rate client. We would not stay again.
Reception was not helpful and not willing to give information eg we were guests at a mannor near by for a wedding and were told that they did not know of its location when we investigated it was on the same road only 4 km from yourselves How do elderly people carry their luggage to the rooms in fact there was no offer from reception The room was nice well appointed but very small and the prices you charge are Sydney prices for accommodation that is a tad above your standards. This my view and not that of my wife Licia
I like the old homestead part best. I liked all the little nooks and crannies that you could relax in. The lounge area was particularly cosy compared to the cold damp outdoors. The food at the restaurant was superb.
The location near Bowral with bush outlook.
Staff were very helpfull, restaurant was very good, location and gardens were ideal.
The room was small, no air conditioning and there was no window. We found it very hot and stuffy in our room. The doors that opened onto the balcony could not be left open as there were no secondary fly screen doors that could be locked for security. As a result we could not sleep. The bed was hard. On arrival we were advised that there was no booking for us, which resulted in confusion and delay.
I liked the hotel and the way it is situated. Food was good in the restaurant.
-Noisy rooms(could hear neighbors talk and tv -No service in sitting area had to get drinks myself -It needed 4 bills to get to the right outcome, charging double for breakfast, double cc % accidently instead of 2 ,4 % on my Amex.
The location, the facilities, the grounds were all exceptional. I would highly recommend the hotel and I would definitely stay there again.
We had a lovely time at Peppers Craigieburn. Liked the room we had that had a nice view and was well appointed. The location on the golf course was lovely. Loved the dining room and its staff. The food and wine were excellent value and of high quality.
1. Some of the reception staff lacked skill and maturity which showed in how they handled my 'complaint' in 3. As well, I booked two breakfasts at 8.30pm one night and for the next two days I had to convince the dining room staff (who were lovely) that I'd paid at breakfast each day. They said they'd notify the dining room but they never did although they credited our account. They were embarrassed. 2. We had a pile of noisy young people yelling up and down our corridor at 1.30-2.30am following a wedding they were at. Could I suggest that they segregate wedding guests in future. 3. The broadband internet was appalling. I booked for a week ($49.95) as the best option for my 3 day stay. But it was so slow (behaved like a slow dial-in service) that I cancelled it the next day. The staff insisted I pay a full day $19.95 and commented that they haven't had other complaints. I couldn't get my iPad to open sites as basic as blogger. It was so slow I was timed out regularly. Even the SMH was slow.
Beautiful old hotel in a stunning location, tastefully and beautifully restored. Lovely and relaxing escape.
Despite being comfortable, rooms were very small and had no air- conditioning.
spacious grounds. renovated old building
room was too small for money paid
